Tara Clancy is an experienced civil litigation attorney who has successfully represented Fortune 100 and mid-sized companies in all aspects of litigation before State and Federal courts since 2007. She has been trusted by clients in a wide range of matters including commercial disputes, breach of contract, fraud, premises liability, products liability, retail law, and various employment matters.
Ms. Clancy is a graduate of the TIPS/ABOTA National Trial Academy. She has also served on multiple jury trial and arbitration teams. Before joining the firm, Ms. Clancy served as in-house counsel for an international organization whose complex operations included federal and local contractors, as well as multistate and international business functions.
Franchisee v. Franchisor (Subsidiary of Major Oil Company) – Served on trial team in two-week long AAA arbitration where franchisees in Napa, California alleged breach of contract by franchisor. Defeated attempts to vacate arbitration award at the district court, as well as in the Ninth Circuit.
Major Oil Company v. Defendant – Recovered seven figure judgment and attorney’s fees for oil company by prevailing on summary judgment in action for breach of contract. Successfully defended cross-action by prevailing on summary judgment.
Agricultural Manufacturer v. Global Software Company – Defended software company in multimillion dollar action for breach of contract, fraud, and unfair business practices, where plaintiff alleged that misrepresentations related to software product damaged company operations and caused supply chain issues.
Plaintiff v. Fortune 50 Chemical Company – Defended chemical company in multiparty commercial action where subsidiary manufactured products that allegedly damaged perimeter fencing at a large, high-end residential development.
Plaintiff v. Fortune 50 Chemical Company – Obtained no-cost dismissals and favorable settlements in multiple products and premises liability matters where plaintiffs alleged that personal injuries were due to exposure to semiconductor chemicals in wet rooms.
Plaintiff v. Automobile Manufacturer – Prevailed on summary judgment on behalf of automobile manufacturer in crashworthiness case where driver sustained fatal injuries.
Plaintiff v. Major Oil Company – Represented company in action involving claims of negligence and premises liability action where victim sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
